Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 11 AM–11 PM. Yonkers is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Yonkers follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I’m hoping that my experience was attributed to placing my order about hour and change before closing (kudos to this place for closing at a later time than most though). Looking to satisfy that chinos itch, I settled on No. 1 Kitchen. Unfortunately, the quality of the food I bought left me far from from satisfied. Two words: over-fried & bland. The General Tso’s chicken was hard, stringy and chewy. The spare rib tips were bony, hard and chewy. It felt like eating old goat meat. The fried rice was basic and the default pairing option when choosing a combination meal via the BeyondMenu app. French fries we’re pretty soggy (seemingly under-fried, but could be expected when fries are left to steam in the container). The egg rolls seemed undercooked on the inside and were mostly unseasoned cabbage. The scallion pancake were pretty expensive for what you receive and were a victim of being over-fried and tough. Maybe the food is cooked in oil that’s too hot and not cooked adequately. The main difference between here and other chinese food spots would be the portions of their dishes. They aren’t shy and will pack the container with lots of rice and a little more than average protein.

Best of the best food in the area. The size and price are great. Shrimp and broccoli is king. La Amiga is the best. Her customer service is outstanding. The food is delicious.

At this point, they are my friends. Not only is the food amazing but you get the friendliest service. And they don’t take long to get you your food. The portion always leaves me with more for later. My favorite is the Shrimp vegetable soup. It slaps OD.
